Valente Implements HACCP Food Safety Good Distribution Practices
Good Distribution Practices (GDP) are aligned with HACCP food safety controls in the ingredients supply chain. These practice guidelines ensure quality through our piece of the food supply chain. Valente engages in ongoing process improvement to ensure we are always achieving a superior rating in GDP and regularly achieves a superior rating for our efforts.
In October 2016 we achieved a 99.09% superior rating from our HACCP GDP 3rd party audit conducted by SAI Global and in 2017 we achieved a 99.44% superior rating.
We are constantly fine-tuning our implementation of GDP practices and we refine our business practices to guarantee the supply chain integrity of the goods we supply to you. These practices help guarantee food safety and quality and they prevent contaminated and low-quality ingredients from entering the supply chain. They also act to minimize any potential risks that could occur along the way.
Valente voluntarily subscribes to a rigorous program of 3rd party audits to ensure that when ingredients are stored in our warehouse and delivered to your kitchens they remain safe and of the highest quality.
GDP requires that all our warehouse and distribution processes are traceable and reportable. Using GDP processes and procedures we document every item that enters our warehouse and we track every item by lot number. Lot number tracking, not always offered by other suppliers, allows us to track the quality and safety of products from the momemnt that they enter the warehouse and even after they have been delivered to your kitchens.
Even though following GDP practices is a voluntary exercise that is expensive and time-consuming, we know that following these practices and determining our adherence makes goood business sense for us and for our customers.
We subscribe to annual third-party audits ensures we are operating at maximum efficiency and that our business is adhering to Good Distribution Practices (GDP). Every year we submit our business to third party examination by SAI Global. We are a consistent high performer. You can download a copy of our latest audit results in which we achieved a Superior rating of 99.09% which is an increase from the previous year’s 98.62% rating.

As a responsible ingredients wholesaler, we understand the importance of segmenting products that can cause food allergies, so we’ve designated zones for peanuts and tree nuts.
In addition to the dry ambient temperature of our general distribution warehouse, we created four custom refrigeration zones to properly store our large variety of ingredients.
